THE word ‘grandma’ for many will conjure up images of knitted cardigans, hair rollers and crochet.

But two OAPs who are putting that stereotype to bed once and for all are fun-loving grans Gill, 64, and Mo, 74, from Wrexham.

The golden oldies, who have become social media stars after sharing their holiday antics on TikTok (@gillandmo), adore nothing more than a Benidorm bender – complete with shots and a late night KFC.

The duo, who are ex-sewing machinists and retired retail assistants, first struck up a friendship when they played a game of darts down their local pub over 15 years ago.

Since then, they’ve been inseparable and have taken an annual trip to the Spanish seaside resort every April for seven years, which they document online – much to the delight of their fans.

Me and Mo think life is too short, we are both mature ladies who like to make the most of life.

Amongst the videos show the pair necking shots, hitting the strip on their mobility scooters and downing pints as they cheer on their much-loved football team, Wrexham down the local.

“Me and Mo think life is too short, we are both mature ladies who like to make the most of life,” Gill said, speaking to The Daily Star.

“We like to get out and about when we can, have fun and enjoy ourselves – you never know what is around the corner so we live each day as it comes.”

Gill says the pair, who are often mistaken for twin sisters, have enjoyed so many fun memories together in Benidorm over the years, it’d be far too hard to pin point a favourite night.

“However, we enjoy going out most nights to the tribute bars and watching singers and dancers and having a sing-a-long and some shots,” she explains.

Sharing what she loves so much about the Spanish hotspot, the OAP says that nothing beats the atmosphere or the night time shows in the evenings.

And of course, let’s not forget that for Gill and Mo, Benidorm very much feels like a home from home due to the large community of Wrexham fans who gather to support their beloved football team.

Gill, who has lived in Wrexham all hr life, explains that her team’s fans even have a Facebook group where supporters post where the game is being aired in Benidorm.

That way, it means they can all get together and watch it, while sinking beers and cocktails.

With some of the pair’s social media posts racking up a whopping 1 million views, Gill says the response they’ve had has been “amazing.”

She adds: “The comments saying we make people’s days made us happy, and it’s made us want to continue posting.”
