The Mars Volta have unveiled details of their ninth studio album, Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos Del Vacio, arriving April 11th.
Singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala informally confirmed the album by sharing a pre-order link to an online retailer via an Instagram story. Pre-orders have also popped up via other retailers such as Amazon and Rough Trade, confirming the album’s cover art and 18-song tracklist.

In lieu of an official announcement, The Mars Volta have taken an unconventional approach to the new album rollout, letting fans piece together details and hear the material early.
The band has been performing the album in its entirety every night as the support act on Deftones’ current North American tour, while Bixler-Zavala reportedly even gifted one lucky person — a delivery worker who brought food to the band at a hotel — a burned CD-R advance copy of the album.
A description of the album on retail sites reads: “The Mars Volta’s ninth studio album represents a significant milestone for the band, which has been continually reinventing itself for more than 20 years. With Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacio, they deliver an album that celebrates their roots, allowing them to reconnect with their origins. Fans are invited to embark on a musical journey.”
The Mars Volta’s tour with Deftones continues Thursday (March 13th) in San Antonio and runs through early April (get tickets here). Pre-order Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos Del Vacio here, and see the artwork and tracklist below.
