The Exploding Hearts’ Guitar Romantic Gets Expanded and Remastered Reissue

The Exploding Hearts: Guitar Romantic (Expanded & Remastered)

The Exploding Hearts’ power pop classic Guitar Romantic is being reissued for its 20th anniversary. Guitar Romantic (Expanded & Remastered) is out May 26 via Third Man. The reissue features previously unreleased material, including an unheard take of “So Bored,” studio dialogue from the band members, and “I’m a Pretender (King Louie Mix),” which you can hear below.

Months after the initial release of Guitar Romantic, band members Adam Cox, Matt Fitzgerald, and Jeremy Gage died in a car accident. In 2014, surviving members King Louie Bankston and Terry Six reunited as Terry & Louie, performing songs from Guitar Romantic at their live shows. Bankston died last year. According to today’s announcement, Six plans to perform tribute shows for the album’s anniversary this year.
