Real Estate have announced a new rarities album. Out this Friday, May 2, The Wee Small Hours will feature B-sides, covers, and previously unreleased songs from the New Jersey band’s 14-year tenure with Domino. It includes also Real Estate’s renditions of Television’s “Days,” the Nerves’ “Paper Dolls,” and the Strokes’ “Barely Legal.” See the new album’s full tracklist below.
“This is something we’ve talked about doing for a while now,” Real Estate frontman Martin Courtney said in a press statement. “The title comes from the lyrics to an unreleased song we recorded during the Atlas sessions at Wilco’s loft in Chicago back in 2013, which in turn references a great Frank Sinatra record. This feels to us like a worthy addition to the catalog and we hope you all love it.”
Real Estate’s latest studio album, Daniel, came out in 2024. Today, they’ve also shared a Micah Welner–directed music video for “Pink Sky,” which opens The Wee Small Hours and previously appeared on the Cardinals at the Window benefit compilation. Watch the video—featuring Martin Courtney dressed as a wizard—below.
Real Estate released their self-titled debut via Woodsist in 2009. They joined Domino in 2011, and the label issued the group’s next five studio albums: Days (2011), Atlas (2014), In Mind (2017), The Main Thing (2020), and Daniel.
