A WALMART shopper has revealed that her husband is desperate for workers to ask him to show his receipt.
The influencer revealed her partner prepares himself beforehand for the request.
The whole concept of a receipt check has divided shoppers.
Some do not understand why shoppers are aggravated by the polite requests from greeters, while others have vowed never to comply.
The influencer (@yourbestiemeg) is just the latest to chime in with her opinion on the controversial inspections.
“The way I feel is if you trust me enough to check my s**t out, you need to trust me enough that I was honest,” she said in a TikTok video.
She revealed her husband gets gassed up and is ready to go.
The TikToker said he would tell Walmart workers they should trust him if he’s scanning his own items.
Fellow influencers have shared how they respond to being asked to show receipts.
“I just let them check it. There’s enough drama. Checking my receipt isn’t one,” said one shopper.
“They don’t even ask me anymore. I’ve always responded ‘No thank you have a nice day,’” another chimed.
“Nope! I tell them to go check the cameras. You’re not touching my receipt,” a third shopper claimed.
Other shoppers have claimed they will not stop for a receipt check if their items are all bagged.
Some have said they will comply with a check if they are carrying an item.
Commenters admitted that it depends on their mood whether or not they allow a Walmart door greeter to check their receipt.
Viewers also pointed out that Walmart isn’t a membership store, so in theory, shoppers shouldn’t be forced to show their receipts.
Costco and Sam’s Club shoppers have been warned that receipt inspections may take place.
Members who don’t comply run the risk of having their subscriptions canceled.
It has not stopped disgruntled shoppers from comparing the process to airport security.
But Sam’s Club chiefs are trialing technology designed to quicken up the process.
The company is using machines in around 10 stores that verify items that have been purchased using scan-and-go technology.
Bosses hope that it means workers will be able to assist customers in need of help, rather than scanning or checking pieces of paper.
An influencer, purporting to be a Walmart worker, went viral after revealing supposed advice on how to deal with a customer who doesn’t want to have their receipt checked, per Daily Dot.
Legal experts have offered advice on whether shoppers should show their receipts or ignore the requests.
Lawyers have said that there isn’t a specific law, mandating shoppers to comply with the checks but have said it might reduce hassle.
