Mclusky, the Welsh rock band who released three influential albums in the early 2000s, will return to play North America for the first time in 18 years. Their tour will unfold in two stints, the first taking in the West Coast in September and the second sprawling across the rest of the continent towards the end of the year. New music is in development but may not be released, according to the band.
A bio in the press release, which is unattributed but bears the acerbic hallmarks of frontperson Andrew Falkous, reads:
Since disbanding in 2005, Mclusky-adjacent lineups have sporadically regrouped for reunion shows under names such as Mcklusy and Mclusky*. Their full, unasterisked return has coincided with the 20th anniversary of their beloved 2002 album, Mclusky Do Dallas. After their reissued debut, My Pain and Sadness is More Sad and Painful Than Yours, and final studio album to date, The Difference Between Me and You Is That I’m Not on Fire, the band released Mcluskyism, a best-of, in 2006. Falkous went on to form Future of the Left.
