Mal Devisa has announced a new anthology album titled Palimpsesa. The collection of 29 songs features poet, singer, and songwriter Deja Carr’s early work and some previously unreleased material, all of which has been newly mixed and remastered. Below, listen to two re-released tracks, “Old Intro” and “Skyline Arms-Reach Out,” both of which originally appeared on 2021’s Wisdom Teeth.
Palimpsesa includes work from Mal Devisa’s 2014 EPs, For Daisy Honey and 4U; her 2016 full-length debut, Kiid; and 2018’s Shade and the Little Creature. The title of the new album is a play on the word “palimpsest,” which Merriam-Webster defines as “writing material (such as a parchment or tablet) used one or more times after earlier writing has been erased.”
Palimpsesa is out July 30 via Topshelf. The label previously handled a 2022 reissue of Kiid.
