LAMORNE Morris has gushed about being a single dad to his daughter Lily in a rare new comment.
This week, the New Girl actor was a guest on Today with hosts Hoda Kotb, 60, and Jenna Bush Hager, 42.
On Tuesday, Lamorne, 40, spoke to the US daytime TV show anchors about upcoming projects, going on a trip with Glen Powell, his Emmy nomination for FX’s drama series Fargo, and his daughter Lily.
During his interview, Hoda and Jenna showed a video of the Hollywood actor getting the call that he received an Emmy nom and how Lily reacted.
In the adorable clip, Lamorne was on the phone while laughing and crying at the same time, which seemed to confuse the tiny tot.
“I love this video for so many reasons,” Jenna exclaimed.
“You’re teaching your beautiful daughter that it’s okay to have an open heart.”
Lamorne agreed, “100 percent.
“I think it’s beneficial for young kids to understand the differences between the two and that it’s okay to cry, whether you’re sad or happy.
“There are times where she’ll see me cry maybe if I’m sad or because I lost someone and she’s trying to understand what that means.
“And in this occasion, because I’m laughing and crying she’s confused and making fun of me,” he laughed.
‘SHE NEEDS TO BE A LAWYER!’
Hoda asked the Woke star what kind of father he was and revealed that he was a single dad.
“She kinda has me wrapped around her finger,” Lamorne admitted.
He continued, “I try to be like ‘No, this is not how this is going down,’ but it always goes down the way she wants it to go down.”
Lamorne continued telling a story where Lily told her father she loved him.
I try to be like ‘No, this is not how this is going down,’ but it always goes down the way she wants it to go down.
