KYLIE Jenner has been criticized after the Khy founder unveiled her label’s new swimsuit line.
Fans called the 27-year-old out for promoting exact replicas of designs from her “disastrous” Kylie Swim collection, three years after the brand was inundated with negative reviews on social media.
On Monday, the reality TV star teased Khy’s new “satin swim” launch, calling it the label’s “sexiest drop” to date, on Instagram.
Kylie gave fans a sneak-peek at the upcoming collection as she modeled a slate-grey, high-cut swimsuit with waist cutouts, in a series of pictures posted on social media.
However, eagle-eyed fans on Reddit later pointed out that the grey costume was “identical” to a yellow one-piece from Kylie Swim’s debut collection.
“This looks so similar to the Kylie Swim design,” one user wrote on a forum dedicated to the Kardashians. “Zero effort. Zero creativity. Just vibes and a new LLC.”

Another comment read, “Lmao this is literally the exact same swimsuit.”
“Maybe they are just trying to offload inventory that they couldn’t sell,” a third person theorized, referring to the backlash against Kylie Swim when it was launched in September 2021.
A fourth Redditor commented, “Wow, I didn’t read the title of this post close enough and really thought these were just Ky Swim throwbacks. They are so similar!”
“She just changed the color,” another user noted.

At the time of writing, Kylie had limited the comments under her latest Instagram post about Khy swimwear.
Kylie Swim was written off as a “scam” less than two weeks after the collection went live on September 17, 2021.
TikTok and X (formerly Twitter) were flooded with negative reviews, including complaints about a lack of coverage and the use of cheap, see-through fabric that made the swimsuits impossible to wear in public.
“Kylie Swim is just horrendous,” one person wrote on X at the time.
Another agreed, “The quality of the Kylie Jenner Swim line is so cheap. So disappointed.”
More about Kylie’s brand, Khy
On October 24, 2023, Kylie posted a photo on her Instagram wearing a black leather trench coat with the caption: “Meet khy.”
Jens and Emma Grede, the same husband-and-wife duo behind Khloé Kardashian’s Good American and Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS, are said to be involved with the brand.
Kylie stated that the clothing line, a play on her nickname, will offer fashion-forward threads at a more accessible price point than typical designer brands.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Kylie said: “The whole line is really inspired by my personal wardrobe, and the different moods that I’m in…[the first drop] is very King Kylie–who I am at my core.”
The venture is her newest, though not only foray into fashion.
She also collaborates with her sister Kendall Jenner on their clothing line Kendall + Kylie, sold at lifestyle retail brand PacSun.
Jenner previously launched Kylie Swim in September 2021 to lackluster reviews before filing new trademarks for the brand in November 2022.
Her first Khy collection was released on November 1, 2023.
So far, she has released four collections underneath her brand.
CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH?
Reddit users voiced the same concerns they had with Kylie Swim after Kylie announced the new resort wear Khy drop.
One person noted that the flimsy grey costume “will not survive swimming”, while another said, “This scrap of fabric is only for posing for IG pics.”
“In the nicest way possible, I don’t see this one being a big seller,” a third comment read. “Who does this look flattering on?”
Despite these criticisms, many of Kylie’s fans expressed their excitement for the new Khy collection on Instagram.
“This release has very good vibes,” one fan commented, while another said the launch was “another reason to swipe my card.”
The swimwear collection is Khy’s tenth drop or release since Kylie launched the fashion brand in 2023.
Her other ventures include Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Skin, and Kylie Baby.
