Jack White has announced the official release date for his latest studio effort, his mysterious new LP, No Name. It will arrive on DSPs and streaming services on Friday, August 2, and will be available in Third Man Records retail stores on Thursday, August 1. The ensuing drop will come on blue indie vinyl; a distinct decipher between the Record Store Day release and the proper follow-up.
White’s formal announcement regarding No Name comes after the guerilla-style unveiling of the first pressings, silently slipped into shopping bags as free, unmarked vinyl deliverables at Third Man Records locations on July 19. The move sparked general curiosity over the musician’s intent, which was only solidified with today’s formal promise of new music, totaling 13 new tracks.
Sticking to his do-it-yourself philosophy, White recorded, produced, and mixed No Name at his Third Man Studio throughout 2023 and 2024. The musician has remained fixed on his intricate, in-house process by pressing the set to vinyl at Third Man Pressing and plans to release it via Third Man Records. Beyond the basics, little is known about the record, and no singles have accompanied news of the release.
No Name will also be available on black vinyl via thirdmanrecords.com and jackwhiteiii.com; pre-orders begin Friday, August 2.
