Grinderman to Reissue Albums on Vinyl and CD

Grinderman: Grinderman

Grinderman—the side project of Nick Cave and his Bad Seeds bandmates Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey, and Jim Sclavunos—have announced reissues of their full discography. Their three albums—Grinderman (2007), Grinderman 2 (2010) and Grinderman 2 RMX (2012)—will be reissued on eco-conscious black vinyl on July 18. Digisleeve CD editions are out that day, too.

Grinderman formed in 2005 as a more raw and primal outlet for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds—a sound more akin to Cave’s early post-punk project the Birthday Party. The band recorded its self-titled debut with producer Nick Launay, who returned for the next two albums. The band’s third and final album, Grinderman 2 RMX, included numerous collaborations and remixes with artists like Robert Fripp, Josh Homme, Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and more.

Grinderman broke up in 2011 and briefly reunited in 2013 at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds were also on the festival bill. Despite Grinderman’s decline, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have actively toured and released a number of albums, the most recent being last year’s Wild God.
