Amazon + Abercrombie Try-On – The Golden Girl – The Golden Girl

Hello from the arctic Tundra! 

How are you doing? Surprisingly, we had a great Monday yesterday. We found a little baby sled and took June “sledding” at the park–it was SO cute. I made a reel of it that I posted last night on Instagram if you missed it and need a smile. She was really serious at first so we weren’t sure if she was into it, but when we took a break she protested like, “WHY DID YOU STOP!?” 😆

In addition, I had a productive Monday yesterday, which also helped kick the week off on the right foot. One of the things I checked off my list was filming a try-on for you featuring a handful of new-to-me items from Amazon and Abercrombie. I would call this a combo of comfy meets date night? An odd combo I know, but I am always asked for work-from-home essentials, and also appropriate date night attire that feels age-appropriate for thirty-somethings! (So today, you’ll get a bit of both!) Let’s jump in. 

Amazon + Abercrombie Try-On

Amazon button-front ruffle sweater: $38 

First up, I was perusing Amazon, as one does, and this ruffle sweater with the cutest button detail at the collar caught my eye! I don’t own a lot of black sweaters, so I thought this would round out a hole in my wardrobe! I love the feminine details of the ruffle, which makes it a little more interesting than your average sweater! It’s also comfy (not itchy at all). It’s a versatile staple–pair it with leggings to work from home, pair it with work pants to dress up for work, heels for a date night, sneakers for a casual look, or loafers for a classic look. (PS styled here with Levi’s Wedgie Straight Jeans–I cut off the hem to make a raw hem! I believe they’re TTS!) 

Sizing: I got a small, it’s TTS, but if you prefer your sweaters oversized you could size up. 

Abercrombie LBD: $69

I got this because it looked like Reformation for a LOT less! This dress is a slam dunk–you could wear it with tights and booties for a date night, or a cocktail attire wedding, rehearsal dinner, basically any event. It strikes the perfect balance of sexy and tasteful. It’s not too short (I’m 5’6 for height reference) and it’s formfitting but forgiving at the same time. Plus, the neckline is SO flattering.

Comfy Amazon Jumpsuit: $29 

A one-piece wonder that you will want to pull on again and again no matter what season it is. This jumpsuit is perfect for everything from working from home, making a grocery store run, or a long-haul flight. I ordered both black and the oatmeal heather color below expecting to keep only one, but turns out I love them both so much–I’m keeping them both. 😆

Sizing: TTS, wearing small. Hits me above the ankle and I’m 5’6 for height reference. 

Comfy Amazon Jumpsuit (in heather oat): $29 

Same jumpsuit as above, in a pretty heathered oat color! I was worried this would be see through, and there is a tiny bit of show through on the pockets, but it’s not noticeable enough to bother me. I’m also wearing black underwear here–if I was really scrutinizing I could tell if I looked for it, but again, not enough to bother me, and if you’re really sensitive about it, you can wear nude undies. But I love the color and I think it’ll look extra cute with white sneakers! (I can’t wait to be able to leave the house and walk somewhere with bare ankles again. 😂)

Abercrombie Pleated Tie-Sleeve top: $52 

BIG FAN of this perfect-for-date-night top. The green is so pretty but it comes in an off-white and a blue floral as well. I love the pleated detailing at the top, the cropped length (perfect with high-waisted jeans) and the sleeve detailing. It highlights all the right places and provides coverage where I want it. 

Sizing: TTS, wearing small and it JUST fits me, but if you’re typically in-between sizes or bustier then you may consider sizing up. 

Amazon Happy Stripe Sweater: $16.99

Last but not least–a happy sweater!! This time of the year I can never resists a bright colorful sweater. When you live somewhere this cold you gotta make your own cheer, you know what I mean? I would categorize this as a fun “treat yourself” buy. Does it feel like the most expensive sweater in the world? No. Because it’s not. But like my colorful fair isle socks, it brings me joy! I like that it’s lighter weight because I’ll be able to wear it well into spring–It’ll look really cute with jean shorts and sneakers too!
