FALLOUT Renewed for Third Season, Season 2 Premiering in December

Walton Goggins Ghoul on Fallout

The live-action adaptation of the post-apocalyptic video game Fallout on Prime Video was a big hit when it premiered last year. And it quickly received a second-season renewal. In fact, season one became Prime Video’s third most streamed series of all time. Now, ahead of its second season premiere, Amazon has announced that Fallout will also continue on for a third season. The Fallout announcement happened at the upfronts presentation in New York, with actors Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins appearing onstage. The streaming giant also revealed that season two’s premiere date will be in December 2025.

The new season will pick up in the aftermath of the first season’s epic finale. It will take audiences on a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas. It’s unknown if the series will once again drop with all episodes on the same day, or space them out. We could see them definitely taking a cue from how they released The Boys and Invincible. That schedule had three episodes in one day, with the rest releasing weekly. Vernon Sanders, global head of television at Amazon/MGM Studios, issued the following statement:

We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout. Jonah [Nolan], Lisa [Joy], Geneva [Robertson-Dworet], and Graham [Wagner] have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to vivid life on Prime Video. Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of Season Two.

Seeing as how Fallout season two doesn’t premiere until December, don’t expect the third season to hit until December of 2026 at the earliest. But at least we know we have several more years of irradiated wasteland goodness in our future.
