Longoria has amazing skin, and one of her secrets is rocking the natural look. “People think the trick to looking younger is makeup, but it’s skin-care,” Longoria told Allure. “If you don’t have good skin, piling on makeup just makes you look older and much worse. When it comes to makeup, I don’t overset or over powder it. The more powder you put on the fine lines in your face, the more you see it. Most people say ‘oh let me cover it’ but it looks much thicker and worse.”
Longoria tells Allure that sunscreen is a big part of her skincare. “My mother was so strict on wearing sunblock,” she says. “She always said, ‘the skin you take care of in your 20s is the skin you have in your 40s’.”
On the Connections podcast, Longoria revealed that she avoids feeling jealous. “I think jealousy takes up such an amount of energy,” she says. “I remember being so jealous and like, your stomach is inside out. It’s the worst feeling. Why would anybody want that feeling?”
Longoria is very philanthropic. One of her goals is to increase diversity in the media. She tells Us Weekly that she is working to get more stories told on television. “I have been part of VH1’s huge diversity initiative to get diverse storytellers behind the camera because if you get ’em behind the camera, then it translates to in front of the camera.”
After having her first child, Longoria decided to eat healthier to lose the baby weight. She told Us Weekly that she has cut out certain food in her regular diet. “I haven’t drunk wine. I haven’t eaten sugar. I haven’t seen a carb in awhile.”
