Glasgow’s core. Festival is set to return for its second year, with Empire State Bastard, Employed To Serve and Witch Fever all on the billing.
Taking place between August 02 and 04, at Woodside Halls and The Hug & Pint, the festival will also feature Show Me The Body, Glitterer, Gilla Band, Author & Punisher and more.
Empire State Bastard – the side-project from Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil and Oceansize’s Mike Vennart – dropped their immense debut album ‘Rivers Of Heresy’ in September, and will be closing the festival on the Sunday.
Speaking about the project to Rock Sound at the time, as part of our ‘The Album Story’ feature, Simon explained:
“It feels like we’ve just started. Because everything started backwards – we had the band name and the rough concept of what we wanted to do, then the music, then the album and then the band formed.
“Everything is backwards and I think that’s what has kept it so exciting. We will definitely strike while the iron is hot.
“When it feels good and it feels right, you don’t wanna ask any questions, you just follow your heart.”
You can indeed catch them while the iron’s hot at core. Festival.
