ACTRESS Emma Stone now wants to be called by her real name after Oscar win.
In a revealing interview, Emma, 35, has shared her preference for her birth name.
On Wednesday, The Curse actress and her co-star, Nathan Fielder, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about their Showtime dark comedy.
The Curse follows newlyweds Whitney (Emma)and Asher (Nathan) Siegel struggling with their doomed eco-conscious housing as they attempt to conceive a child.
Nathan, who co-created the show with Uncut Gems filmmaker Benny Safdie, revealed plans for a sophomore season.
The Curse actor hoped the two would return because he has the series “mapped out beyond the first season.”
The conversation steered from their project to Emma’s Oscar win in mid-March.
The Zombieland star won Best Actress for her role as Bella Baxter in the film Poor Things.
She also won Best Actress for La La Land in 2016.
“Before we continue, I’d like to say something. Her name’s Emily, but she goes by Emma professionally,” Nathan pointed out.
“So when there are people that don’t know her, I end up saying, Emma. But I’m going to just say Emily from here on.”
“You can say Emma. You can say anything,” the Cruella star replied.
‘I FREAKED OUT’
When pressed about whether or not the Hollywood industry calls her Emily, Emma revealed only “when I get to know them.”
“It’s just because my name was taken by another actress in Screen Actor’s Guild,” Emma explained.
“Then I freaked out a couple of years ago. For some reason, I was like, ‘I can’t do it anymore. Just call me Emily.'”
If a fan approached the Easy A star for a selfie, she mentioned it “would be so nice” to be called Emily.
