Ratajkowski has never been afraid to stand up for herself, what she believes in, and shut down haters on social media. On her Instagram story, she responded to some haters, after posting a photo of herself in a revealing outfit. “Almost didn’t post this bc I knew the controversy it would stir up but hey it’s my damn body and I’m not going to lean into shaming! God bless!”
Ratajkowski has been vague about her fitness routine in the past, but she does have some favorite ways to exercise. She tells InStyle that she loves to go to workout classes at the gym. She says that they push her to work harder than she would working out alone. “I’m one of those people who, if I go to the gym by myself, there’s a 50/50 chance of me actually working out and really pushing myself, so the class environment works really, really well for me,” says Ratajkowski.
One of Ratajkowski’s favorite exercise classes to go to is a Zumba class. She even has a partnership with the company’s STRONG brand. “I think that’s the great thing about STRONG — the music keeps me really focused and in the zone,” she tells InStyle. “You just feel like you’re, you know, Superwoman really pushing herself. You end up working harder and it’s a better, more intense workout, without even noticing.”
Ratajkowski tells InStyle that getting enough sleep is very important to her. It’s this reason that she likes to do most of her workouts before she goes to bed. She says that this helps her sleep better. “For me, the way I sleep afterwards is one of the main reasons to work out. I am always on my phone working and I think that’s affected my sleep. I’m also really light-sensitive. When I work out, it’s better than taking a melatonin. Because my body has worked hard, my brain finally rests and I think that is so valuable in this day and age — not to sound like an old geezer, but truly I feel that way.”
Ratajkowski says that her wellness routine is all about balance. “I’m all about the balance of that stuff and I really, as cheesy as this sounds, truly believe that mental and physical are really aligned, so taking care of yourself physically will help you mentally and vice versa,” she says to InStyle. Pay attention to your mental health. “If you have stress symptoms, taking steps to manage your stress can have many health benefits. Explore stress management strategies, such as:
- Getting regular physical activity
- Practicing relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, yoga, tai chi or massage
- Keeping a sense of humor
- Spending time with family and friends
- Setting aside time for hobbies, such as reading a book or listening to music,” says the Mayo Clinic.
