Ella Langley is having a moment right now and we need to stop for a minute and appreciate it. I dare say that if Girl Pop wasn’t having its biggest moment in years with Taylor, Sabrina, Olivia, Chappell, and others that Ella Langley would already be a household name given how quickly she’s risen to stardom since signing with Sony Music Nashville and Columbia Records in February of last year.
Langley just made her first late night TV appearance on Monday night, performing her hit single ‘You Look Like You Love Me’ with Riley Green on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Ella and her ‘You Look Like You Love Me’ co-performer Riley Green did perform their song on the TODAY show’s Concert Series last month but this is the first late night TV performance, and it came just a day after her touring ended where she opened up for Cody Johnson in Texas.
This performance is also just 11 days before the 58th Annual CMA Awards where Ella Langley is twice nominated. She picked up a nomination for ‘Musical Event of the Year’ for ‘You Look Like You Love Me’ with Riley Green and also another nomination for ‘That’s Why We Fight’ with Koe Wetzel.
Ella Langley Performs ‘You Look Like You Love Me’ On ‘Fallon’
This song is everywhere. Truly. People sucked into the Country Music algorithms on TikTok cannot open the app without seeing her these days. And the official music video with Riley Green, a video that was uploaded to YouTube just 2 months ago, is already at 11 million views for this 25-year-old rising Country Music star from Hope Hull, Alabama:
The 58th Annual CMA Awards are set to take place next week on November 20th at 8pm ET on ABC. Ella Langley and Riley Green are not named among the expected performers. Those include Christ Stapleton and Post Malone, Dierks Bentley and guests, Thomas Rhett, Teddy Swims, Luke Bryan, Lainey Wilson, and more.
It would be pretty cool to see them sneak in a performance from Ella and Riley though. But given how her nerves looked on the TODAY show appearance a few weeks ago, where she was visibly nervous about her first big TV appearance, it might be too soon to rush her on stage in a room filled with her peers and heroes. That said, I’d be shocked if we don’t see Ella Langley as a CMA fixture in the years to come.
