It’s unclear what the statute of limitations is on bringing a decades-dormant franchise back for another sequel. But all we know is that Eddie Murphy is finally back on duty as Axel Foley after 30 long years in the new Netflix teaser trailer for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley.
Set for release in Summer 2024, the fourth installation of the beloved comedy franchise sees Foley’s tried and true detective squad join forces alongside some fresh faces. According to the Netflix synopsis, Zola breakout star Taylour Paige plays Foley’s daughter — whose unexpected close call with danger causes her to team up with her father and his new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) to uncover an all-new conspiracy. Original cast members Judge Reinhold and John Ashton are set to return as Foley’s old colleagues, who are eager to help on the case.
