Australian actor, model, and content creator Dylan Mahoney chatted about his latest endeavors.
Most recently, he visited Sri Lanka, and he will be representing Australia at an upcoming international supermodel pageant, where he wants to raise awareness on mental health.
American author and speaker John C. Maxwell once said: “Dreams don’t work unless you do.” This quote applies to Dylan Mahoney.
Visiting and working in Sri Lanka
Mahoney recalled his time visiting and working in Sri Lanka. “Sri Lana was simply wonderful,” he admitted. “I was there in December when I did the tourism campaign for the country, and I really loved it.”
“I was there for 12 days, and honestly, it is such an underrated place. It is so beautiful there. Nature and the beaches are so beautiful, and the people on the street are so friendly,” he elaborated.
“The people are always smiling at you whether they know English or not, and they are very friendly. They love seeing foreigners in their country, and they are happy when the foreigners enjoy it,” he explained.
“I want to head back to Sri Lanka as soon as I can,” he added.
Repping Australia at the 23rd annual Manhunt International
He is thrilled to representing Australia at the 23rd annual Manhunt International, which will take place from June 2to 10, 2025.
Manhunt International is a top-tier international male supermodel contest, which was established in 1993. It aims to find the next global male supermodel and has a long-standing legacy in the modeling industry. The 23rd Manhunt International World Final will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 10, 2025
“It feels incredible to be repping this beautiful country,” he exclaimed. “I never thought that there would be a time in my life where I would say that I would be representing Australia in something.”
“I’ve always focused on my passions, which are acting, presenting, modeling and content creating. There is no opportunity there to be representing your country in something, so this is really exciting.”
“This is the first time I’ve ever done a men’s international pageant before,” he said. “I am very confident because of all the skills that I’ve learned from my entertainment work that I have been doing for years. I can definitely utilize those skills in this pageant.”
“I am actually pretty excited to leave for Thailand in a few weeks,” he admitted. “I will try my best to make Australia proud,” he said. “In the future, I hope to be a part of the Mister Universe competition as well, so that I can represent Australia there.”
“I am working with a designer to design my own custom swimwear for the competition,” he said. “I am also working with Marty Thomas as my stylist.”
Significance of repping Australia
On the importance of representing Australia, he remarked, “Australia is an incredible country. So many people around the world would love the opportunity to visit and move here, and I can see why.”
“The quality of living is so high here in Australia. You are taken care of very well and the government really does look after you,” he acknowledged.
“There are so many opportunities to build an incredible life in Australia, and that’s the exact reason why I am proud of the repping this country. I am so happy to be representing a great country at an international stage,” he elaborated.
Advocacy in the competition: Mental health
An Aussie social influencer, Mahoney opened up about his advocacy for the forthcoming pageant. “I just want to assist in helping to de-stigmatize mental health,” he underscored. “Even though we have come a long way, in other countries it is still taboo to talk about mental health.”
“Here in Australia, mental health is a common conversation I can have with friends,” he said.
“I want to be a part of the group of people that are openly trying to speak up about it and de-stigmatize it, and make it something that is completely natural,” he elaborated.
Hobbies
Aside from his endeavors in the entertainment and content creation scene, Mahoney shared that he enjoys language learning, paddle boarding, playing tennis, as well as swimming.
Message for his fans and supporters
For his fans and supporters, Mahoney expressed, “I want to thank my fans and followers for all the supportive messages I get from them on social media.”
“I know my fans love the content that I post, and I will be documenting the entire beauty pageant process because I know they are interested in seeing how it works,” he noted.
“I hope this inspires them to just go after the things they want to do in life. I will do Australia, proud. I promise,” he concluded.
