Given that she’s making her feature film debut in Barbie, it should come as no surprise that international pop star Dua Lipa has also made a song and music video for the film, too.
Released in tandem with the “main trailer” for the film on Thursday, Lipa dropped the music video for her new song “Dance The Night”, which will be featured on the Barbie soundtrack.
Alongside Lipa, the official Barbie soundtrack will also feature music from Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dominic Fike, Fifty Fifty, Gayle, Haim, Ice Spice, Kali, Karol G, Khalid, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, PinkPantheress, Tame Impala, the Kid Laroi, and even Ryan Gosling.
Here is the official synopsis for Barbie, via Warner Bros:
To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken.
In addition to Lipa making her feature film debut in the project, Barbie also stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emma Mackey, Michael Cera, Simu Liu, Helen Mirren, Will Ferrell, and more. The film will hit theaters in the United States on Friday, July 21.
Barbie isn’t the only movie that Lipa will be appearing in this year, as she also has a part in the Matthew Vaughn-directed spy film Argylle, which is set to hit AppleTV+ later this year.
While the release of Barbie is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer, it’s not the only massive movie hitting theaters on July 21. Telling the story of the “father of the atomic bomb” J. Robert Oppenheimer and directed by Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer stars Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Michael Angarano, Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh, and more.
Don’t worry though, movie fans, according to Matt Damon, you can go see both Barbie and Oppenheimer during the same weekend.
