Dua Lipa will be making her feature film debut in Barbie, which had its world premiere on Sunday, July 9.
While Lipa was one of many celebrities at the Barbie premiere, the 27-year-old pop star perhaps stole the show with her incredible and sparkling sheer dress.
Plenty of additional mindblowing photos and videos of Lipa walking the red carpet went viral all over Twitter.
Not only is Lipa playing the “Mermaid Barbie” in the Greta Gerwig-directed film, but she also performed the song ‘Dance The Night’ for the film’s official soundtrack, which has already been turned into a single and given a music video.
Barbie isn’t Lipa’s only feature film role, as the London native also has a role in the Matthew Vaughn-directed, Henry Cavill-starring AppleTV+ film Argylle, which is set to release next year.
Alongside Lipa and Cavill, Argylle — which does not have an official release date at the time of this writing — features an ensemble cast that includes the likes of Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, John Cena, Ariana DeBose, Rob Delaney, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, and Samuel L. Jackson.
According to early reviews of Barbie, which were released immediately following the movie’s premiere on July 10, the film is living up to the massive expectations that it had considering its combination of stars (Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling), director (Greta Gerwig), and premise.
Alongside Robbie, Gosling, and Lipa, Barbie — hitting movie theaters in the United States on Friday, July 21 — also stars Simu Liu, Emma Mackey, Kingley Ben-Air, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell, John Cena, Michael Cera, Helen Mirren, and more.
