SNL50 pulled out a couple of old favorites early in the night, but just before the first hour wrapped up, a recent Saturday Night Live phenomenon joined the party — Domingo.
For the third installment in the ongoing Domingo Televisual Universe (or the DTU), the happy (?) couple of Chloe Fineman and Andrew Dismukes are renewing their vows. Martin Short and Molly Shannon, who play Fineman’s parents, kick off the festivities with a boozy toast before the band of bridesmaids return for another song — this time including Sabrina Carpenter. They rip through a parody of “Defying Gravity” from Wicked (which works as a great meta joke, as Carpenter flips the script on original Domingo guest star Ariana Grande) and Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me.” Of course, that’s when Marcello Hernández’s Domingo enters.
The fun doesn’t end there, though, as a groomsmen’s party made up of of Bowen Yang, Andy Samberg, Kyle Mooney, and Jason Sudeikis do their own rendition of “Espresso” with a little help from Carpenter herself. During the song, it’s revealed that the groom has a secret latin lover of his own, Pedro Pascal. And then Bad Bunny just kinda shows up for a cameo.
Overall, it was pretty alright. Though, like most trilogies, it likely won’t be anyone’s favorite of the series. Check it out below.
