DOLLY Parton has given an intimate insight into her decades-long marriage.
The country music legend opened up about her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, 81, while on The Today Show.
In a clip from the show shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, Dolly, 78, spoke about her new Duncan Hines baking line.
While the daytime TV stars were in the studio in New York, Dolly dialed in from Nashville, Tennessee.
Dolly looked as glamorous as always in a bright pink outfit, with her bright blond hair piled into a curly updo.
Host Hoda Kotb soon asked, “Dolly, what’s Carl’s favorite thing that you bake?”

Dolly was happy to answer the question, admitting, “Well, he loves everything I cook, he’s also a big sweets eater, and he loves chocolate more than anything else. So – my favorite, too – is the chocolate cake that we do. So I have to always make something chocolate for him.”
Dolly’s husband was born in Nashville on July 20, 1942.
Although Dolly offered a tidbit of information about their private life, Carl himself tends to stay away from the spotlight.
Carl focused on business in his youth, and ended up with an estimated net worth of $20 million as of 2020.
BUNNY BIRTHDAY
While Carl loves Dolly’s baking, he also loves Dolly’s Playboy past, with the singer sporting the exact same outfit she wore on the cover of Playboy in 1978 for Carl on his 80th birthday back in 2022.
She explained on Instagram, “You’re probably wondering why I’m dressed like this. Well, it’s for my husband’s birthday.
“Remember some time back I said I was gonna pose on Playboy Magazine when I was 75? Well, I’m 75 and they don’t have a magazine anymore, but my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy, so I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy.
“He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years and I’m not gonna try to talk him out of that. And I hope he agrees. What do you think?”
After laughing, Dolly explained that she “did a little photo shoot in this little outfit” for Carl’s birthday, adding, “I had a cover made of the new Dolly – or the old new Dolly.”
The hitmaker then explained her plans to surprise Carl by singing to him in her “little bunny suit,” joking, “What do you think? Do you think Playboy should pay me for ought to pay me for this photoshoot? I do.”
Alongside the clip, she wrote, “It’s always Hot Girl Summer for my husband, Carl. Happy birthday my love!”
EVERLASTING LOVE
Dolly and Carl’s decades-long romance is said to have begun with love at first sight.
“My first thought was I’m gonna marry that girl,” Carl revealed on Dolly’s official website about the then 18-year-old singer, whom he met outside a laundromat in Nashville.
“My second thought was, ‘Lord she’s good lookin.’ And that was the day my life began.”
The couple tied the knot on May 30, 1966.
They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2016 with a renewal of their vows.
At the time Dolly told Entertainment Tonight, “If I had it to do all over, I’d do it all over again, and we did.”
