Doja admits that battling self-esteem issues is a daily struggle. “Growing up, I definitely had body dysmorphia. Without a doubt. And I’ve had it since,” she told Cosmopolitan Middle East. “It started in my teens, which I think is where it starts for a lot of people. I started really growing and I never really thought I looked good in a lot of the stuff I wore.” However, she tries to keep herself healthy. “Now, I just try to focus on eating well, but I definitely still struggle with body dysmorphia a bit now. But I think that’s to be completely expected when there’s all these phones in your face, right?”
Doja is into exercising. However, fitness hasn’t always been a big part of her approach to health. During a recent Instagram Live session, she admitted she was new to regular workouts “It used to be rehearsals for award shows,” she said about her approach to exercise. Now she prioritizes exercise, even when she is traveling. “It’s hard to get a hotel that has a proper gym,” she added.
“I don’t need to be like anyone else but myself,” she told Crack. “That sounds so corny, but there were times where I felt like a baby duck, just doing what the momma duck did. I took my own leap of faith. When I’m natural, people really f**k with me.”
During her Instagram Live she detailed her average sweat session, revealing that she splits up her workouts. On arm days, she does a lot of weight lifting, including four sets of shoulder presses and bicep curls. “I’ve just always had noodle arms, my whole life,” she revealed. Lower body workout day exercises include jump squats and kettlebell exercises. “I love doing squats,” she said. “Don’t know why, but my bottom half responds to a lot, and you can see it immediately.”
Doja prioritizes sleep. She recently shared a photo of herself getting some zs, telling her followers that sleep is good for her intimate life and her brain. “I also have an IQ of 560 because of it,” she wrote. “Scientists have gone to great lengths to fully understand sleep’s benefits. In studies of humans and other animals, they have discovered that sleep plays a critical role in immune function, metabolism, memory, learning, and other vital functions,” says Harvard Health.
