A pet owner shared a heartfelt moment of their dog continuing to wait by their neighbor’s fence every morning, even after the neighbor, a 94-year-old woman who had given the dog treats every day, died.
Abigail Morrow, Honey’s owner, shared footage of the bond her dog and neighbor shared on TikTok on July 31. The clip, which immediately went viral, garnering over 33 million views in four days, explained how Abigail’s neighbor would bring Honey treats and pets every morning.
After her death, the dog was filmed visiting the same spot each day, expecting the routine to continue and barking to try and get her attention.
Relatives give thanks
According to an August 1 post on X/Twitter, Abigail detailed how Honey and her neighbor, Edna, were allowed to say goodbye after Edna’s family notified them that she was unwell.
“They did actually get to say goodbye to each other, which was the sweetest thing. Her family texted us when she had gotten pretty sick. They texted us and asked if we could bring Honey. Honey got to give her lots of sniffs and lots of kisses on the hand and say goodbye to her friend. So they really did have just such a special bond.”
Likewise, Edna’s granddaughter, Susan, thanked Abigail for sharing the bond between grandma and dog on the original TikTok video. “Thank you for capturing this. I am now crying, but my grandma loved your fur baby so much,” she said.
