The drama surrounding the relationship and subsequent breakup of country music star Zach Bryan and Barstool personality Brianna Chickenfry has run rampant this summer. The two have been seen throwing online barbs over the last few months following their split in October of 2024.
Fellow singer Tyler Childers inserted himself into the conversation with a viral repost on social media. He created a talking point amongst country music fanatics, though it was likely done on accident.
To catch everyone up to speed, we’ll provide a brief backstory on the relationship before diving into Childers’ supposed response.
Zach Bryan-Brianna Chickenfry drama explained.
The couple went public with the romantic relationship in July of 2023. A little over a year later, they broke up.
Since, a barrage of back-and-forth jabs have been thrown from each side.
Chickenfry ignited a fire with accusations of toxicity, as well as a claim that she turned down a $12 million NDA requested to be signed by Bryan’s camp.
Barstool Sports later released a diss track titled, “Smallest Man,” that did numbers on YouTube. It goes unnecessarily hard.
The singer bit back in July of 2025 with a shady online comment hinting at a supposed reference to Chickenfry in Bryan’s song, “River Washed Hair.”
Bryan later deleted the comment, but the damage had been done. Chickenfry threatened to expose him with receipts from their checkered past, some of which she shared a few days later.
She also suggested that he had a drinking problem. The fallout from the breakup has been messy. Childers unintentionally fanned the flames.
Tyler Childers has new music!
The singer released an album, Snipe Hunter, in late July. It’s been met largely with positive reviews.
One of the top songs being heard on social media is titled, “Bitin’ List.”
To further promote the song on TikTok, Childers has been resharing clips of fans singing along to the tune. It’s catchy! It also contains an awesome line now trending online.
To put it plain, I just don’t like you
Not a thing about the way you isAnd if there ever come a time I got rabies
You’re high on my bitin’ list.
The singer’s TikTok account is full of these reposts showing fans belting out the song. Unfortunately, he shared the wrong video while promoting the new release.
Zach Bryan’s ex-wife loves the tune.
Rose Madden was one of the fan clips reposted by Childers.
What does it mean?
Madden and Bryan were married in July of 2020. They split the following year.
Brianna Chickenfry has been vocal about not only her story, but the stories of Zach Bryan’s previous exes. She wants to shed as much light into his allegedly toxic behavior as possible.
Many believed that Rose Madden was referencing Bryan in her “Bitin’ List” video. Maybe she was. Maybe she wasn’t.
Chickenfry later posted a similar video with the song on TikTok, as did another ex, Deb Peifer.
That trio of posts fueled the narrative that the videos were aimed at Zach Bryan. Some believed Childers was in on it thanks to his sharing of the Rose Madden’s clip.
“Tyler hates that man,” one commenter said. “TC reposting is messy and I’m here for it,” wrote another.
Does Tyler Childers hate Zach Bryan?
In all likelihood, no.
Bryan applauded Childers on landing his first radio hit last year. He also called him “tenfold the musician” in a banter with country music fans online.
Bryan’s been heard covering Childers’ songs in the past and has even been spotted in crowds at the performer’s shows.
An online search won’t pull up anything negative Childers has had to say about his counterpart. There seems to be no history of a beef.
This is more likely just social media users reading way too deep into the post in an attempt to create a story.
