Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry clearly had some tense moments since he married Meghan Markle. Well, hanging out the dirty laundry just isn’t the done thing, so a lot of people felt shocked when the couple engaged in a long interview with Oprah Winfrey. But did his grandmother snub Lilibet by not spending more time with her great-grandchild?
Queen Elizabeth: Problems With Prince Harry & Meghan Markle
2021 was not a good year for Harry’s grandmother. After all, he and his wife shocked the whole world by airing their dirty laundry in the interview with Oprah Winfrey. Actually, it backfired somewhat as people respect his grandma.
Queen Elizabeth’d been an adored monarch for many years. So, people started going off the couple in a hurry. Recall, not long after that, allegations emerged that Meghan had bullied palace aides.
Supporters of Queen Elizabeth became very concerned towards the end of last year. Not only did the monarch lose her husband, Prince Phillip, but she seemed to be unwell.
Showing her age, did she really need all the added drama of a family feud? But how likely is it that she would take that out on her cute great-grandchild?
Queen Elizabeth Spent Only A Bit Of Time With Lilibet
IBT UK reported that on June 2, after the Trooping the Colour parade, Harry and Meghan met with the monarch at Windsor Castle.
As they have two kids now, both Archie and his little sister Lilibet went along. Reportedly, everyone had a lovely time together.
However, word leaked that the kids only had a very short visit and social media started griping about it.
Lilibet is as cute as a button, fans agree, so it seems strange to think that Queen Elizabeth might have deliberately snubbed her.
Well, several outlets have now reported that what happened seemed very sensible for a 96-year-old. Factor in that she wasn’t well at the time, apparently, neither Harry nor his wife pushed the queen for a family photo session.
No Snub
The outlet reported that “the visit reportedly only lasted for 15 minutes because [ Queen Elizabeth] was preserving her strength for the remaining events of the Platinum Jubilee.”
In fact, Harry’s grandmother even gave the kids gifts and for a short time, she was entertained. Clearly, there was no snub intended. After all, she was unwell, old, tired, and had very many more functions to attend to.
What do you think of the explanation, that there was no issue between the grandma, her grandson, or his kids? Sound off your thoughts in the comments below.
