Lola Tung did attend LaGuardia High School in New York City. She graduated recently, though, being that she’s only 19. It’s true that Jennifer Aniston also attended the same high school. The school’s official name is Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. It’s located in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, and it happens to be one of the most famously attended high schools in the nation. The school opened its doors to students in 1936 after then-Mayor Fiorello H. LaGuardia made an executive decision to do something for students who love the arts.
What’s the Point of This School?
The point of LaGuardia is simple but genius. The former mayor wanted to ensure that children who are not eligible for private school education are given a fair shot at honing their talents and interests in the arts. He opened the doors to give kids who might not otherwise have a chance a shot at doing something with their artistic nature. Every student is given a chance to learn the entire core curriculum, and they are also given a chance to focus on one artist study outside of their core classes. Students can choose music (instrumental or vocal), dance, drama, art, and theater. The school also offers students a chance to fully develop their academics by providing regular classes, honors courses, and advanced placement courses for those who qualify.
