Lovato shared some of her skincare secrets with Cosmopolitan. She says that she has changed aspects about her routine. “My beauty evolution has changed over the years. Obviously, getting older, you might use a bit more eye cream, and you might look towards injectables. For me, that’s been the case. I just started doing things that make me feel empowered and confident and like my best self.”
Lovato has a busy life, however, she always makes time for self-care. She talked about the importance of this in her Cosmopolitan interview. “Self-care is really important to me. And it’s about taking care of myself. Doing whatever makes me feel the healthiest—whether it’s going on a walk or working out or taking a bath, getting a massage, whatever it is that I feel like is going to be the most beneficial to my self-love routine—is what I focus on.”
Lovato tells Cosmopolitan that she has learned to ignore comments on social media. “I used to be affected by the comments on social media when I was younger, and the way that I’ve tuned it out is realizing that my joy doesn’t come from comments on the internet. It actually comes from real deep and meaningful connections to the people that I love and care about. So I spend more time with them, and I care less about what people say on the internet. I just know that my happiness doesn’t stem from outside validation; it really stems from within.”
Lovato shared her skincare routine in her Cosmopolitan interview. She says that she takes care of her skin twice each day. “Every day I have a diligent skincare routine where I use cleanser and a toner, then a day cream and an eye cream,” Lovato said. “Then at night, I use the same cleanser, same toner, a serum, a night cream and an eye cream. Twice a week, I also use a peel, a scrub, and a mask. I’m very, very strict [with it].”
Lovato is open about her struggles with mental health. She tells Us Weekly that meditation is one of the things that she does to help her. “Meditation, moments to reflect and activities like jujitsu really help me find balance and wellness in my life. Mental wellness and self-care look different for everyone, so whether it’s five minutes of meditation or an hour-long workout, just find what works for you.”
