Having a flight delayed can be immensely frustrating. Having a flight delayed after you’ve already boarded the plane and cannot deplane is even worse. Now, imagine having to listen to a child poorly sing karaoke from the Disney movie “Moana” over the plane’s intercom system while delayed for 2 hours.
Passengers trapped on a Delta Airlines flight en route to Orlando had to do just that recently, according to a viral TikTok that has viewers up in arms.
TikTok Commenters Call Out Parents, Delta Over ‘Moana’ Karaoke During Flight Delay
The original video, which was uploaded on Tuesday and now has over 4 million views and over 3,000 comments, was captioned. “When your Delta flight is delayed 2 hours and you circle Orlando for another 2… But then a little girl sings Moana on the crew mic and suddenly everything feels okay 🥹🎤✨.”
However, not everyone saw the bright side of things quite like the original poster. Another video showing a different angle of the moment was captioned “Not us being tired on a delayed flight went Delta pulls this.”
Now, look, if you’re a kid person or a Disney person, I can kind of see how you may find this endearing. And don’t get me wrong, “Moana” rips (“Moana 2” is a different story). I, however, am not that type of person! And it seems several people sharing and commenting on the video feel the same way!
“This is actually my worst nightmare and personal hell,” one commenter stated.
“What’s your favorite horror movie?” another replied. “IDK Being trapped in a metal tube with a singing child.”
Now listen, karaoke is great. Big karaoke fan! But there is a time and a place! I don’t even blame the kid. She had no idea that she was doing anything wrong. But the mom standing right there watching? Have some shame!
Some of the responsibility also belongs to Delta and the flight crew, who also called out.
“Did the flight crew think ‘how can we make this flight worse for everyone involved?’” one person wrote.
If I’m ever trapped in a scenario like this, I assure you I will respond by doing something that will probably leave me no longer employed by BroBible. So please, parents, do not subject poor, tired, uncomfortable passengers to this time of nonsense.
