A Delta flight to Wisconsin became a bedlam of feathers and fright as two stowaway pigeons wreaked havoc in the cabin.
You’ve heard of ‘Snakes on a Plane,’ but birds on an airbus are an entirely different matter.
Passengers on board a Delta airplane headed to Wisconsin from Minneapolis, Minnesota, started screaming when two pigeons were discovered in the cabin.
Luckily, the plane was still on the tarmac at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport when the incident occurred on the night of May 25th.
Delta flight goes viral as pigeons storm cabin
In a video taken by one of the passengers, people can be heard shrieking in fright as another flyer uses his jacket in an attempt to catch one of the birds.
Passenger Tom Caw recounted the incident in a statement to WCCO News, saying, “The pilot gets on and says, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, we have a wildlife situation on the plane,’ and everyone is laughing at this point.”
“When I boarded, everything seemed normal. Then I went to sit down and I overheard a passenger come up to the flight attendant who was standing right by where I was, and she said, ‘I think there’s a pigeon on this plane.’”
According to Caw, one pigeon was first discovered walking underneath the seats on the plane and was safely removed by a baggage handler. Then, as the craft taxied onto the runway, a second pigeon started flying around the cabin, as seen in the viral clip circling social media.
Both pigeons were successfully caught by the same baggage handler, and the flight was briefly delayed until 10 PM.
“Delta appreciates the careful actions of our people and our customers,” a spokeswoman for the airline told WCCO News. “We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travel.”
This is the latest wild incident to happen on an airplane after passengers on a Singapore airlines flight were refunded $1400 when a dog seated next to them wouldn’t stop farting during their trip.
