Deftones‘ set at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday (March 26th) had a little added star power, with Paramore’s Hayley Williams taking the stage to perform guest vocals on the encore opener “Minerva.”
Williams looked to be in attendance as a fan, posting footage on Instagram from the back of the venue with the other concertgoers. But when it was time for the encore, the Paramore singer headed to the stage to help out with the song from Deftones’ 2003 self-titled album.
The Paramore singer mostly lends backing vocals on the chorus drops, though she’s obviously stoked to be up there, bopping around the stage and dancing to the otherwise tempered, slow-tempo cut (as seen in fan footage below).

It marks the second time Williams has joined Deftones onstage, as she previously sang alongside Chino Moreno and company in 2010 at the Rock-A-Field Festival in Luxembourg. That time, she guested on White Pony highlight “Passenger,” singing the parts original recorded by Tool’s Maynard James Keenan on the studio version.
Deftones are on the tail end of their North American tour with The Mars Volta and Fleshwater, with the current leg of dates running through April 9th in Newark, New Jersey. Deftones will then head back out this summer for additional North American tour dates with Phantogram and IDLES. Get tickets here.
