DeAnna Pappas is best known for being the lead of the fourth season of The Bachelorette. On Easter weekend, she did some skateboarding with her family. Pappas shared a video of herself doing so on Instagram. She captioned the post, “Can’t take the southern out of the girl! Pappas shared some of her wellness secrets in an interview with People. When it comes to workouts, she likes to do a variety of different exercises. “Whether I’m able to get to the gym or not, I do a lot of cardio, whether it’s just getting my kids in the stroller and walking them around. And I’m really in love with barre classes and Pilates. I really like workout classes that help me to create long, lean muscles.”
Pappas makes sure to eat healthy. She shared her typical diet with People. “I’m a pretty healthy eater and I actually really like salad! Then I’d have another bar or an apple and peanut butter for a mid-afternoon snack. We typically eat pretty clean and healthy, so for dinner we eat a lot of roasted vegetables and chicken and fish.”
Pappas talked about finding acceptance with her body in her People interview. “It’s such a struggle, because I think about my own daughter, and I don’t ever want her to be consumed with how thin she is or how good she looks because at the end of the day those things aren’t important. I had two children, two vaginal births. What my body did is amazing, so at the end of the day, I have a couple of extra pounds, I’m carrying a little extra love handles on the sides of my hips, and it’s a beautiful thing.”
Pappas likes to take workout classes. She explained why in her People interview. “I like a class in general because I feel like I push myself a little more because I’m super competitive.” Iowa State University states that group workouts have a lot of benefits. “The highest quality or type of motivation is called intrinsic motivation – you’re doing something because the behavior itself is enjoyable, satisfying or both. If you enjoy exercise and not just the positive feelings you get after you’ve worked out, you are more likely to stick with it. Exercising with other people can supply that enjoyment, even if the activity itself is difficult or otherwise not something you love. Group exercise can turn working out into a fun social activity, which could lead to you continuing to do it.”
Pappas loves to cook. She shares a lot of her favorite recipes on Instagram. In this video, she made a tomato tartlet. Pappas captioned the post, “This little beauty came to me when I bought the most gorgeous heirloom tomatoes the other day. Fresh out of the oven, it was divine! I used a Puff pastry sheet. I bought an array of different tomatoes and sliced them. Drizzled a little lemon & herb infused olive oil on the puff pastry & layered the tomatoes. I baked in my oven for about 30 mins. Once finished, I topped with crumbled goat cheese, basil ribbons, flaky sea salt, & another quick drizzle of olive oil. Quick, easy, delicious, & GORGEOUS.”
