Deafheaven have released their sixth album, Lonely People with Power, along with a short film for the LP’s track “Winona.” Both the LP and the seven-minute movie can be streamed below.
The album’s release comes ahead of the blackgaze band’s spring North American tour, which kicks off April 19th in Los Angeles, and features support from Gatecreeper and Trauma Ray. Tickets are available here.
Lonely People with Power was preceded by the singles “Magnolia” and “Heathen,” with the former being named our Heavy Song of the Week in late January and the latter being named an honorable mention in the same feature in late February.

The new album is the follow-up to 2021’s Infinite Granite, which marked a sonic shift to a more melodic sound for Deafheaven. Lonely People with Power brings back the band’s trademark mix of black metal and shoegaze, with frontman George Clarke’s powerful screams making a dramatic return.
Among its 12 tracks, Lonely People with Power features a pair of guest vocalists: Boy Harsher’s Jae Matthews on “Incidental II” and Interpol’s Paul Banks on “Incidental III.”
