Days of Our Lives Breaking News: DOOL Ends NBC Broadcast TV Run – Switches to Peacock Streaming Service

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal breaking news that DOOL will end its run on broadcast television and switch to NBC’s Peacock streaming service. Starting September 12, the show will make the change and become a Peacock exclusive from that point on.

Of course, this bombshell is shaking up the soap world since it means one less daytime drama to air alongside The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital.

You can still catch Days on Peacock, but it’s disappointing to see NBC drop it from their daytime lineup.

Instead of airing DOOL, viewers will be getting another hour of news coverage each day.

NBC News Daily will take Days’ place with Kate Snow, Aaron Gilchrist, Vicky Nguyen and Morgan Radford serving as anchors.

Again, you can still catch all your favorite characters on Peacock once Days switches over, but it’ll be a major adjustment for some fans.

This comes on the heels of Peacock’s second Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem installment, which managed to create some buzz online.

Now Peacock is taking a gamble on their main show and moving it over to the streaming service as well.

Days already has plenty of episodes in the can, but it’ll be interesting to see if any adjustments are made moving forward now that the show will be on a different platform.

Let’s look at what Mark Lazarus, Chairman of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, revealed in a statement about this huge swing to streaming.

“This programming shift benefits both Peacock and NBC and is reflective of our broader strategy to utilize our portfolio to maximize reach and strengthen engagement with viewers,” Lazarus said.

Since many fans already view the show online, Lazarus also talked about that being a factor in the decision.

“With a large percentage of the Days of Our Lives audience already watching digitally, this move enables us to build the show’s loyal fanbase on streaming while simultaneously bolstering the network daytime offering with an urgent, live programming opportunity for partners and consumers,” Lazarus said.

This is the end of an era for Days of Our Lives, but you can still find out what’s happening in Salem if you follow the show to Peacock starting September 12.
