What do Charlie Puth, Quest Love, and Eric Stonestreet all have in common? They were all completely floored by how incredible of a drummer David Foster and Katherine McPhee‘s son is.
David Foster has 47 Grammy nominations and has won a golden trumpet statuette 16 times. He’s in the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and has been nominated thrice for an Academy Award for Best Original Song (won once).
He is a living legend. And his wife, Katherin McPhee, was runner-up on Season 5 of American Idol and has appeared on Broadway. They are a musical powerhouse. And their 2-year-old son is on his way to outperform them all on the drums. This video of him playing this song in perfect timing has blown millions away including the celebs I mentioned above who all commented on David Foster’s latest video:
As the video went viral, Charlie Puth commented “WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Questlove added “oh wow” and Eric Stonestreet chimed in with “This is so far beyond amazing.”
The video appeared on the TODAY Show on Monday morning which harkened back to January 23rd of last year when David Foster and Katherine McPhee’s son had just turned 2 years old. Almost a year ago, David Foster posted another video of his 2yo going buck wild on the drums while still in diapers:
Teaching your child to play the drums is a blessing and a curse. Anyone with a toddler will tell you this about any instrument. It’s beautiful to watch your child flourish playing music but at the same time, it means you are sentenced to the next decade of loud music in the house.
But this is David Foster and Katherine McPhee that we’re talking about here. Surely he has large portions of the house soundproofed for their projects. Either way, it’s incredible to see such talent express itself at a young age. The future is bright for their wunderkind.
