James Gunn has has revealed the first look at David Corenswet as Superman.
Set to open in theaters on July 11th, 2025, Superman will mark the first film in the Gunn-helmed DC Universe for Warner Bros. Corenswet, known for roles in Netflix’s The Politician and HBO’s We Own This City, is the latest actor to bring the Man of Steel to the big screen, following the likes of Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh, and Henry Cavill.
Alongside Corenswet, Superman stars Rachel Brosnahan (as Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (as Lex Luthor), Nathan Fillion (as Green Lantern Guy Gardner), Anthony Carrigan (as Metamorpho), Wendall Pierce (as Perry White), Edi Gathegi (as Mister Terrific), and Isabela Merced as (Hawkgirl).
Superman kicks off the first phase of the DC Universe officially known as “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.” Other confirmed films in development include The Authority; The Brave and the Bold, which will introduce members of the “Bat-Family”; Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which will star Milly Alcock; Swamp Thing, directed by James Mangold; and a recently announced Teen Titans movie.
