Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl definitely caught the Music world by storm last week when he announced that he had fathered a new baby daughter outside of his marriage. Now, insider sources close to Dave’s wife are claiming Dave’s ‘rockstar side’ and his ‘flirty behavior’ had been obstacles throughout his marriage.
Grohl’s announcement about his new daughter came on Instagram:
If that Instagram post isn’t showing up for whatever reason, it reads “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Six days later, a source close to Dave Grohl‘s wife, Jordyn Blum, spoke with PEOPLE. That source said Grohl’s wife Jordyn Blum had known about the baby “for a while” but that “she was shocked when she found out about the baby. Her friends are like family, and they rallied around her.”
The source went on to say that “Dave’s flirty behavior has been a hurdle in their marriage. It’s been hurtful to Jordyn” and added that Dave’s ‘rockstar side’ has always been there. They said “we keep reading over and over again how heartbroken everyone is because Dave was supposed to be the ‘good guy,’ the rockstar that didn’t have to do those rockstar thing. And people are crazy about the guy, but there is a rockstar side.”
It is worth noting that whoever shared these quotes with PEOPLE opted to remain unnamed. That’s par for the course with ‘sources’ in situations such as these but it’s all worth taking with a grain of salt unless the names are attached.
Many Foo Fighters fans were shocked after Dave Grohl revealed he had fathered a new daughter out of wedlock so the comments above would presumably come as a shock to them as well. For many, he has fostered a clean reputation over the years due to raising three daughters. For many, many others ‘rockstar behavior’ didn’t come as a shock.
