Cradle of Filth have announced their new album, The Screaming of the Valkyries, arriving March 21st via Napalm Records. The second single, “To Live Deliciously,” can be streamed now.
On the heels of the decadent lead single “Malignant Perfection,” the UK metal vets offer up a leaner and thrashier track in the form of album opener “To Live Deliciously.” Torrents of riffage, coupled with Dani Filth’s harsh vocals, run through the verses, while the chorus sees the band open into more melodic territory with clean guitar leads and more discernible lyrics. All in all, the track runs the gamut of CoF’s amorphous extreme metal style.

“The song is about the celebration of life,” explained Dani Filth via a press release. “Of indulging in everything unfettered from the conformities of religion, fashion or state. Free from guilt or constraint. As nature intended. It could be read as a hedonistic life code. And a positive one if not done at the expense or the suffering of others.”
“To delight in simply ‘being,’” he added. “Being alive and free in the here and now.”
The Screaming of the Valkyries was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England. The LP marks the band’s first studio full-length since 2021’s Existence Is Futile. That was followed by the live album Trouble and Their Double Lives in 2023 and the aforementioned single “Malignant Perfection” — included on the new album — which was released late last year.
Cradle of Filth are set to support the new album with a co-headlining North American trek with Dying Fetus. The “Chaos & Carnage” package tour kicks off in April, and you can get tickets here.
