CoryxKenshin hits back at TikTok viewers for ‘canceling’ him over viral hairdresser video

CoryxKenshin is finally back on YouTube after over a month of silence, starting his comeback with a pointed message for netizens ‘canceling’ him over a viral TikTok video from his braider.

The beloved internet star made his long-awaited return to YouTube on March 26, over a month since his last upload, with a direct response to a video posted to Instagram by his braider, Kira, that took over his fanbase during his absence.

In the video, Kira stepped away from Cory after finishing his braids. The YouTuber looked in the direction she was walking — something that prompted viewers to accuse him of staring at her buttocks.

In his March 26 video, Cory denied these claims, showing that he had begun to look away from the camera in that direction before she even stepped into his field of vision.

Cory also had a message for those taking the clip out of context and using it to ‘cancel’ him, even apologizing to his braider for unintentionally getting her mixed up in the internet drama.

“I’m so sorry you got dragged into all of this,” he said. “She asked me if she could record the process, it would help her business. And me being me, the most private guy ever, I’m like, ‘You know what, if this is gonna help your business… let’s do it.’”

“Y’all will never get no other clips of me!” he continued. “…Y’all taking that clip and blowing it up that much — y’all need to find something to do.”

Cory went on to say that he will no longer be recording himself getting his hair done, admitting that he didn’t know “where this [behavior] started” within his fanbase.

The YouTuber also elaborated on his unexpected absence from making content, saying the “business side” of his career and his new manga, Monsters We Make, kept him extremely busy.

“I’m in all these freakin’ meetings. How am I gonna have the energy, much less the time, to record and edit videos? I’m never, ever hiring an editor.”

He went on to admit that he views his YouTube persona and his business side as different ‘personalities,’ saying they’re “fighting” for control of his schedule as he works to find balance.

Ultimately, Cory assured his viewers that two more videos are in the pipeline, leaving fans both happier than ever and completely baffled that the relatively wholesome YouTuber had been the subject of a “cancellation” during his hiatus.
