In honor of the late Ozzy Osbourne, Conan O’Brien’s official YouTube channel has uploaded the hilarious cold open from the 2002 Emmy Awards featuring the late-night host and the Osbourne family.
Filmed like a scene from the reality show The Osbournes, which was at the height of its popularity at the time, the skit opens with Conan waking up in the Osbournes’ house, only to realize he was super late for his gig hosting the Emmys. Hilarity ensues as he blames Ozzy for not waking him up, as Sharon, Jack, and Kelly all get in on the hijinks. Eventually, Ozzy has to drive Conan to the awards show, only to drop him off at the wrong place (watch below).
Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22nd at the age of 76, just 17 days after performing his final shows as a solo artist and with Black Sabbath at the “Back to the Beginning” concert. He was honored with a funeral procession in Birmingham on Wednesday (July 30th), followed by a private memorial today (July 31st).
