Conan O’Brien is finally returning to The Tonight Show for the first time since his ouster 14 years ago — this time as a guest.
The comedian will sit down for an interview with current Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon on April 9th to promote his upcoming Max travel series, Conan O’Brien Must Go.
O’Brien took over from Jay Leno as The Tonight Show host in 2009 and held the position for a tumultuous seven months. During his tenure, the program not only lost the ratings war to Late Show with David Letterman, but was also undermined by Leno’s own primetime show.
Following O’Brien’s exit, he moved over to TBS and hosted Conan for 11 seasons. He ended his two-decade run as a late night host in 2021. Meanwhile, Fallon took over The Tonight Show following Leno’s exit in 2014.
Conan O’Brien Must Go premieres April 18th on Max and will see O’Brien traveling across the globe to visit friends he met through his Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan podcast.
