Netflix’s Cobra Kai has shared the first trailer for Part 1 of its upcoming final Season 6, and after some late season chaos, the karate kids are back in the dojo.
The trailer opens with Johnny (William Zabka) and Daniel (Ralph Macchio) turning over a new leaf after the thwarting of Kreese and Silver’s corrupt Cobra Kai faction. They recruit some familiar faces to re-establish a dojo based in Daniel’s backyard. With the Sekai Taikai World Karate Championships on the way, Johnny, Daniel, and their band of young students are looking to make a major impression and combine multiple karate philosophies in the process. Meanwhile, Kreese (Martin Kove) — having faked his own demise at the end of Season 5 — is revealed to have returned, and works with a rival group to become champions.
“With Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, our senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate,” the show’s logline reads. “With the global tournament approaching, Daniel and Johnny work to rebuild their team. But old enemies and new threats stand in the way of victory.” Watch the trailer for Season 6: Part 1 below.
Premiering on Netflix on July 18th, Part 1 of Cobra Kai’s Season 6 will be followed by two additional parts, with Part 2 arriving on November 28th. Netflix has confirmed that Season 6 will be the final season of Cobra Kai, and each part will be comprised of five episodes each. The end may be imminent for Cobra Kai, but Ralph Macchio will reprise his role as Daniel LaRusso in an upcoming Karate Kid sequel film alongside Jackie Chan.
