Sevigny revealed several of her wellness secrets in an interview with Vogue. She broke down her skin care routine and some of her favorite products. She says, “I love this brand Tatcha, their products are my favorite. I’m obsessed. The cleanser, the polishing powder… Also in Japan I got one of those silver rollers, It’s really phallic looking with a silver ball on the end! So I roll that on my face all the time when I’m sitting around. It feels good, anyway. I’m also really into dry brushing before I get in the shower in the morning to wake me up and stimulate.”
In her Vogue interview, Sevigny also broke down how she takes care of her hair. “I try and dry the roots upside-down so it doesn’t lie flat – I’ve learned the tricks of the trade. And I do a cool rinse at the ends. I dye and highlight it all the time, so I try to take care of it. I like Living Proof conditioner. And I love to brush it with Mason Pearson brushes. I have almost like an obsession with that. I always have a little Mason Pearson in my bag.”
Sevigny has a lot of supportive people around her, including a lot of good friends. She says that her friend group meets up and they discuss their lives and emotional situations. “I spend time being emotional with my friends, they’re very accepting and open,” she says to Vogue. “Just communicating with them about stresses and anxieties. It’s really important to maintain those friendships. We have lots of girls-only dinners and those are super fun.”
Sevigny has a busy schedule, which can naturally cause her a lot of stress. However, she tells Vogue that she makes time to de-stress and do things that relax her. “Stress ages you the most. If you can find a place to not compete with everyone else, not always desire what you don’t have, I think that is important. I have a lot to be thankful for, but it’s more trying to find comfort in where you are.”
One of Sevigny’s favorite ways to work out is by going to a Pilates studio. She tells IntoTheGloss, “For fitness I do Pilates at Flying Squirrel. It’s my favorite form of exercise, other than walking.” “Pilates may sound intimidating, but it’s an accessible way to build strength in your core muscles for better posture, balance and flexibility. Pilates can be adapted to provide a gentle strength training and stability program, or it can be modified to give a seasoned athlete a challenging workout.
