Chileans Waited 5+ Years To Get Revenge On Adam Levine. Why?

In February 2020, a month before the world changed, Adam Levine and Maroon 5 performed at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Viña del Mar, Chile, the country’s largest music festival.

Afterward, despite being half an hour late to stage and keeping the massive crowd waiting, Adam Levine and the band were said to have phoned it in and put on a completely effortless performance. Chilean fans were furious and it prompted an apology after the fact from the Maroon 5 front man who claimed technical difficulties were to blame for him lacking the “energy to interact with the audience.”

But the damage had been done!

Chileans Have Waited 5 Long Years To Keep Trolling Maroon 5’s Adam Levine

After the apology issued in February 2020, Chilean fans never forgave Adam Levine or Maroon 5 for blaming the complete lack of energy on ‘technical difficulties.’

At the time, they started flooding Adam’s Instagram comments with recipes. The trolling reached such a level that it seemed as if the entire country of Chile had an axe to grind with Maroon 5 and Adam Levine eventually turned off his Instagram comments.

They’re back!

A quick perusal of Adam Levine’s Instagram comments reveals that he turned ‘public commenting’ back on for his personal Instagram page in recent weeks. His posts in mid-July had 22, 6, and 9 comments. Recent posts are in the thousands… all from Chileans.

His comments on Instagram post collaborations with The Voice and with his band, Maroon 5, have all been flooded by Chileans waiting for him to open his comments back up after 5 years.

My only real question here is…Did Chileans think Adam Levine was talented before the February, 2020 incident? Did they not realize Adam Levine relies on auto-tune to subtly improve his voice (pitch correction and in live performances) while criticizing singers on The Voice?

I respect the long game here. Waiting 5 years to keep trolling Levine over a petty incident that could have been forgotten overnight because nobody should allow Maroon 5 to occupy their thoughts for that long. But to keep the trolling going after all these years is worthy of applause.
