Chet Hanks, son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, has gone viral tons of times over the years for his antics of varying degrees. This year, however, Hanks is getting some attention for his performance as an actor.

In the new Netflix show Running Point,  Chet Hanks apparently isn’t an ill-advised gimmick like his Patois accent but is actually a scene stealer.

In Running Point, which stars Kate Hudson as a “former party girl” whose put in charge of a Los Angeles basketball team, Hanks stars as Travis Bugg, a character that’s described as being the “problematic” point guard of the Los Angeles Waves.

And because Bugg is played by Hanks, he also raps, of course.

The Daily Beast published an article titled “Chet Hanks, of All People, Is the Breakout Star of Netflix’s Running Point” while Consequence says he’s the “MVP” of the series.

“Running Point puts his reputation to great use, casting him as an insufferable, ego-driven basketball star on the show’s fictional version of the Los Angeles Lakers: an athlete and aspiring rapper who peacocks with juvenile misogyny and lack of respect for authority. Of course, Running Point is a 10-episode series, so that initial introduction to his character grows into a much more complicated portrait of a broken guy struggling to break free from his arrested development,” The Daily Beast wrote while calling Hanks an ‘undeniable highlight.’

In addition to Chet Hanks, Running Point — co-created by Mindy Kaling and Ike Barinholtz, among other –also stars Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Brenda Song Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandeman and Jay Ellis.

Running Point is now streaming on Netflix. You can check out the official trailer below.
