Celebrity Trainer Anna Kaiser in Workout Gear Trains Kelly Ripa

Celebrity trainer Anna Kaiser is showing exactly what Kelly Ripa’s workouts look like, thanks to social media. Kaiser, whose clients also include Shakira and Karlie Kloss, shared a video of herself teamed up with Ripa, breaking down her strength training exercise regimen. “Kelly’s workout routine with personal trainer @theannakaiser at the @annakaiserstudios,” reads the caption from the LIVE With Kelly and Mark Instagram account. Kaiser’s entire job is to be fit, healthy, and empathetic to help others—here’s how she does it, joyfully.

A typical breakfast for Kaiser includes eggs and spinach. “I’m not a morning person, although that’s changed a bit since having my son, Brooks,” she tells PureWow. “I usually wake up around 6 a.m. and have a probiotic with alkaline water before he wakes up. Then, coffee! We spend an hour in the mornings playing and eating breakfast together before I head out for the busy day ahead. I recommend eating small meals all throughout the day. We’re all so busy that it’s important to keep your energy up. By eating all throughout the day—really healthy, clean food— your body will be receiving a constant stream of nutrients.”

Kaiser starts her day with a dance workout before private client sessions. “I love getting my sweat on first thing in the morning,” she told PureWow. “It gets me focused, energized and ready to take on the day… People always ask me what to eat before and after a workout. I recommend drinking caffeine 15 to 30 minutes before your workout to rev up your heart rate. My current favorite post-workout fuel is collagen coconut yogurt. You need to eat a good source of carbs and protein within 30 minutes of finishing your AKT workout for optimal nutrition, fat burn and muscle recovery.”

Kaiser recommends using a heart rate monitor to make sure you’re getting the most out of your workout. “Make sure you get your heart rate up, elevated and keep it elevated for an extended period of time,” she tells ABC News. “Thirty minutes is great, if you can do that on a daily basis. Forty-five minutes is extra work. You can add more weights to make it harder, but use a heart rate monitor that is the best way…to know how hard you’re working and to make sure your heart rate is actually elevated.”

Kaiser loves to cook dinner at night with her husband, saying it’s when she “comes alive.” The couple usually make fish and enjoy dark chocolate for dessert. “One of my favorite meals we make is salmon over cauliflower rice with fresh made tomato sauce,” she told ELLE. “The sauce takes a bit of time, but it’s fun to spend some time catching up. And, if we’ve both had good sweat sessions that day, we’ll enjoy a glass of wine or scotch together with our meal.”

Kaiser takes a moment to slow down and restart when things get overwhelming. “Sometimes, when my day starts to get hectic, I sit down, take a breath, and reconnect to my mind and body before moving on,” she tells ELLE. “There is so much that I am passionate about and so many people that I love, it helps to remind myself how grateful I am for the life I am leading so as not to allow myself to get swept away in details of the day. Balance. I am always striving to stay centered and find balance in my day, my fitness, my food, and my energy.”
