CBS’s beloved canceled comedy Young Sheldon is getting a new spinoff show, but fans are already planning to boycott it.
Young Sheldon may be leaving the air, but it will soon be replaced with a new series spun off from the show.
According to Deadline, CBS is working to bring a series following the characters Georgie Cooper and fiancée Mandy McAllister to the network.
The roles are played by Montana Jordan and Emily Osment.
The prospective series, from executive producers Steve Holland, Steven Molaro, and Chuck Lorre is still pending.
Both actors are still allegedly working out deals to reprise their roles in the spinoff.

It would get a 13-episode series to air throughout 2024-25.
While some fans were interested in news of more content from the Young Sheldon universe, calling character Georgie “one of the best” from the original show, the overall reaction was quite negative.
In fact, some went so far as to state they would not be watching, essentially boycotting the new show.
“this is spinning out of control!” one fan joked about the fact that the new show is, itself, a spinoff of another spinoff.

“the story of Georgie and Mandy is sooo boring,” another commented.
“oh, hey look. Exactly what nobody in the world wants,” one fan insisted.
“a spin-off of a spin-off? yeah i speak for everyone when i say we wont be watching,” wrote another.
A cacophony of users across social media communities chimed in with their thoughts on the matter as well.
“Not needed at all,” was one viewer’s sentiment.
“Stop…” another begged.
“Who asked for this???” wondered one perplexed fan.
OUT WITH A BANG
Young Sheldon was canceled ahead of the decision to bring out the show’s prequel series.
The CBS show’s last season will begin on February 15 and the finale is scheduled for May 16.
The first episode of Young Sheldon aired in September 2017, and it has since wracked up more than one hundred episodes.
Iain Armitage stars in the sitcom next to the voice of the original Sheldon Jim Parsons, 50, and Disney star Emily Osment, 31.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, made a statement: “As a prequel to one of the biggest comedies, Young Sheldon proved lightning can strike twice.
“It set itself apart with a remarkable cast that felt like a family from the first moment we saw them on screen and brought characters to life with unique heartfelt stories that drew audiences in from the start.”
She also thanked the executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro, and Steve Holland as well as the writing and producing teams.
Amy said the show will get a “proper send-off” with some of the “best episodes” being in the last season.
MORE TO COME
The three executive producers also released a statement about the show’s end: “Being able to tell the origin of Sheldon Cooper and expanding the story to include the entire Cooper family has been a wonderful experience.
“We are grateful to our fans for embracing this chapter of the Coopers these past six seasons, and on behalf of the entire Young Sheldon family, we’re excited to share this final season with you.”
Young Sheldon was nominated for several Critics Choice Awards, a People’s Choice Award, as well as multiple Kid’s Choice Awards.
In 2019, it won a Golden Trailer Award for Best Comedy Poster for a TV/Streaming Series.
The creator of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, Chuck, is currently working on another spinoff of the long-running sitcom.
The details about the show are not yet known, but it’s being made for HBO’s streaming service Max.
