CARDI B has cancelled a headline music festival appearance after suffering a medical emergency.
The rapper, 32, had been due to perform at ONE MusicFest, in Atlanta, this weekend but has pulled out after being hospitalized.
The star announced the news on X, writing: “I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won’t be able to perform at ONE MusicFest.
“It breaks my heart that I won’t get to see my fans this weekend and I really wish I could be there.
“Bardi Gang – thank you for understanding and I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t worry. Love yall. – Cardi.”
The likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Nelly and Ari Lennox are on the festival’s star-studded bill, while Sunday night’s line-up is headed by Gunna.
Fans were understanding and sent their well wishes to Cardi.
One posted: “No worries sis, hope you have a speedy recovery. Only thing that is important to us is your health. Get well soon sis, love you.”
Another said: “OMG we understand, get better soon Mama.”
A third wrote: “100% understand. Please get well soon.”
The music star’s headline slot was scheduled just a month after she gave birth to her third child.
Cardi shared pictures of her newborn days after the birth, as well as estranged husband Offset and their other two children Kulture, five, and Wave, two.
And she was quickly back at work, filming a promo for next year’s WWE SummerSlam event.
Weeks prior to giving birth, Cardi – real name Belcalis Marlenis Cephus – filed for divorce from Offset and for full custody of their kids.
Their relationship has become increasingly sour, and just this week she ranted about the rapper, telling followers she’s never “hated somebody soooo much” and wished he was “hit by a truck”, in a now deleted X post.
It followed Offset being spotted on a dinner date in Toronto, Canada, with a Cardi B lookalike.
Offset, 32, was previously accused of cheating on Cardi – but insiders claimed that’s not the reason for the split.
“They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else. This is something she wants to do,” the source told Page Six.
The insider also claimed that the divorce didn’t catch Offset off guard as they’ve “been trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now”.
They said: “It’s not something that happened overnight… They’ve both been on the same page.
“There wasn’t [pushback]. They’ve grown apart, and that feeling has gotten stronger over time. It’s become unavoidable.”
Cardi made their issues apparent in an interview in May, when she called their marriage “complicated”.
The New York native claimed to be single despite her and Offset making numerous public appearances together in recent months.
Cardi initially filed for divorce in September 2020 after accusing Offset of cheating during their marriage, but later backtracked on her claims.
